Evelyn Ellen Ley of Calgary, formerly of Bow Island and Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2019, at the age of 104 years, beloved wife of the late John Ley. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Gary Barrett, Carol (Roger) Larocque, Joy Lahti and Susan Lahti; ten grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Claudia and Fillmore Dillon; her husbands, John Lahti and John Ley; one daughter Joan McDowell; five brothers and four sisters. Evelyn was born on September 1, 1914 in Wilkie, Saskatchewan. Following the passing of her husband John Lahti in the early 80’s, she moved to Medicine Hat. She met John Ley and they were married in 1982 and farmed in the Bow Island area. They retired to Medicine Hat and John passed away on July 21, 1996. Later, Evelyn moved to Calgary to be closer to her family. A private family graveside will be held at Hillside Cemetery where she will be reunited with John Ley.
