Darlene Longworth
February 23, 1938 ~ May 21, 2025
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Darlene Angela Constance Longworth passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years, surrounded by her loving family. Her warmth, humour and strength touched everyone who knew her. Darlene was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Alma “Toots” Lautermilch; her brother, Murray and his wife, Audrey. Darlene is survived by her devoted husband, Alfred “Allan” Longworth; her children, Bradley and Raelynn (Lloyd); her cherished grandchildren, Kaylee and Hayden and their father, Jeff as well as her beloved sister, Bonnie (Paul) Rocher. She was a guiding light in their lives – funny, kind, endlessly strong and always ready with a smile or a quick remark to lift their spirits. Darlene was born on February 23, 1938, in Woodrow, Saskatchewan. After high school, she moved to Regina where she completed postsecondary studies before working for Dr. Bradley. She married Allan Longworth on July 9, 1960, and they started their family in 1963. They spent many joyous years traveling, with trips to Disneyland, Florida, Hawaii and Europe. After retirement, they enjoyed several months each year in Mesa, Arizona with her sister and brother-in-law and other close friends. Darlene had an incredible gift for seeing the good in everything and everyone and her positive outlook was contagious. She had a passion for cooking and baking and could always be found in the kitchen preparing a favourite family dish or treat. Darlene was also an avid gardener, with a special talent for flowers – there wasn’t a bloom she didn’t know or love. Darlene’s legacy is one of joy, love and resilience. Her laughter, stories and presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. A Celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at a future date. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com) In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something beautiful in her memory – just as she would have.
