It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our incredible mom, grandma and wife. Marie was born February 8th, 1939, in Fox Valley, SK to Anton and Dennillia Deis (Sehn). Marie leaves behind her loving husband of 69 years, Reno Sr.; son, Reno Jr. (Cheryl); Reno’s sons, Chris, Chance, and Dylan; and daughter, Paula (Todd) Wright and their three daughters, Rikki, Rylie, and Reiss. Marie was predeceased by her son, Anthony, and her daughter, Lois, who left behind her husband, Larry Stewart, along with their two children, Karlie (Mark) and Bretton (Jackie), and two great-grandchildren, Lowen and Lawson. Additionally, Marie leaves behind her sisters, Lorraine (The late Irwin) Kuhn, Betty-Ann (Garry) Bischoff, Annette (Ralph) Nadeau, Corrine Bischoff, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie met Reno, the love of her life, in Medicine Hat and they married on October 31, 1956. They left Medicine Hat and moved up north to Peace River to start and raise their family. While in Peace River, Marie bought her first flower shop, Flora Delite Flowers, in 1974. Shortly after that she opened two more flower shops, Roses Flowers and Campbells Flowers in Grande Prairie. A few years later Marie attended Olds College in Olds and obtained her Horticultural Diploma. She then became President of Flowers Canada which took her many places throughout North America. Marie and Reno eventually sold the flower shops and moved to an acreage in Sherwood Park. It was there that Marie worked at a flower shop and delivered mail to rural areas for the Catholic School Division. Reno and Marie moved back to Medicine Hat to finish their careers and eventually retire. Marie had numerous creative hobbies, she spent many hours crocheting hundreds of blankets and sewing squares together for over 50 quilts. She loved being in the kitchen making traditional German dishes and experimenting with new recipes. She enjoyed baking/decorating cakes and making a variety of chocolates to celebrate all holidays. Marie had a hand in pretty much everything. She was an incredible floral designer, with a green thumb that could grow just about anything. Although she was very busy, family always came first. She loved her family dearly and would do absolutely anything for them. She spent many hours having fun with her grandchildren teaching them. Marie was passionate about teaching; she took every opportunity she had to share her skills and talents with others. She will be deeply missed! Memorial gifts in Marie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or by planting a tree or sending flowers. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Marie Fleck.
