1954 ~ Patrick Chacalias ~ 2025

Patrick Chacalias of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9th, 2025, at the age of 70 years.  Patrick leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Melanie (Joe) Gustavson of Regina; three grandchildren, Katiln, Hannah, and Drác; his mother, Beverly Chacalias (nee Bodin); sister, Connie (Terry) Hansen; one aunt; one nephew; one niece; as well as numerous cousins.   Patrick was predeceased by his father, Alex Chacalias in 2019.

Patrick was born in Medicine Hat and grew up on the river Flats. He began weight training in their basement gym at an early age and could perform amazing feats of strength. Patrick moved with his young family to Regina when he was 21. There working on big construction projects he learned to spray fireproofing and acoustic materials, a specialized trade that would provide for him and his family and take him to projects in Saskatoon and all the way to Toronto.

Pat was a free spirit. He was friendly, outgoing and genuine. What you see is what you got. He enjoyed suntanning, flexing his muscles, and cruising in his sports cars. Yet at the same time he was compassionate and cared about others. After returning to Medicine Hat, he provided exemplary care and support for his aging parents. Pat will be missed for his big grin, unique and colorful character.
